In Kyiv, representatives of state authorities, religious communities, as well as military servicemen, received the Bethlehem flame of peace, which was brought to the capital from Austria by members of the National Organization of Scouts.

Representatives of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Kyiv City State Administration are among those who received the flame of peace.
“This fire has always been a symbol of goodness, peace, tranquility of mind, love for people and the world. And today we gathered here to open a bigger path, a wider path for the fire of peace,” said the coordinator of the ‘Light of Peace from Bethlehem’ initiative in Ukraine, Alina Chernyshova.
The scouts handed over the Flame of Bethlehem to representatives of the Ministry of Defense, clergy, the Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth, the Kyiv City Family Center Rodynnyi Dim, and the University Ukraine.
The Light of Peace was also handed to representatives of regional branches of the scouting movement.
After the ceremony, the Flame of Bethlehem was brought to the Ukrainian President’s Office. It will also be delivered to all corners of the country, where scouts will spread the lights in their communities.
Lamps with the Bethlehem fire will visit the front line as well where Ukrainian defenders and volunteers will receive them.
In the premises of institutions and organizations, where the Light of Peace from Bethlehem will arrive, this fire must remain lit until January 6. Everyone can light a candle and pass the flame on.
