Metropolitan Epifaniy meets with senior bishop from Church of Evangelical Christians

On June 15, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine met at the Metropolitan House with Anatoliy Kozachko, who was last month elected senior bishop of the Church of Evangelical Christians.

According to the OCU press service, during the meeting, Church leaders discussed the religious situation in the country, spiritual and psychological support for Ukrainian soldiers, chaplains service, and the anti-Christian position taken by the Russian Orthodox Church and its primate Kiril (Gundyaev), who supports the invasion of Ukraine.

The meeting was also attended by the first deputy senior bishop of Church of Evangelical Christians, Vitaliy Yatsiuk, and chief of its Department of External and International Relations, Yuriy Kulakevych.

Metropolitan Epifaniy also received the Mayor of Pereiaslav, Vyacheslav Saulko. During the conversation, the parties shared their views on the need to restore the churches in town that are considered historical monuments of all-Ukrainian significance.

The meeting also touched upon the importance of the spiritual element in the context of the ongoing Russian full-scale invasion and the popularization of Ukraine’s true ancient history.

“The enemy is constantly trying to appropriate our values – territories, history, Church, and culture. Therefore, in order to win this war, we need to repel the invaders on all fronts. Although it is clear that the main burden lies on our soldiers – the modern-day heroes who risk their lives every day and sacrifice themselves for the sake of each of us,” said the Primate of the autocephalous Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
