OCU head honors wounded bomb technicians

On Thursday, April 27, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine accepted in his residence – the Metropolitan House – the head of the Bomb Response Service at the National Police of Ukraine, Police Colonel Volodymyr Khomenko, and deputy head of the K9 Department, Police Colonel Oleh Zhivchyk

Archimandrite Lavrentiy of the St. Michael’s Golden-Top Monastery, also took part in the meeting, reports the OCU press service.

National Police officials briefed the head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine about the activities of the bomb squads in the conditions of a full-scale Russian invasion. In particular, it was noted that the civilian population suffers the most from land mines, but the enemy does not care about this at all, often planting mines even at cemeteries.

Metropolitan Epifaniy thanked the guests for their “important and sacrificial” work and handed over 17 church awards to the bomb technicians who were injured while performing official tasks and are currently undergoing treatment and rehabilitation.
