UOC (MP) remains part of ROC, although it doesn’t admit it – journalist

The editor-in-chief of LB.ua, Sonya Koshkina, recalled that the so-called “UPC” still remains part of the Russian Orthodox Church.

“If you talked to representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, they would be very offended by the fact that you added ‘MP’ to their title. They believe that they are not ‘MP’, although in fact they remain part of the Russian Orthodox Church, they just indeed have some expanded rights. I found such a formula for myself – I always write “UOC (sort of not MP)”, Koshkina said in an interview for Radio NV.

The journalist admitted that at the time of the formation of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in 2018, she was forced to be in the ranks of the MP and therefore she knows this environment very well.

“Yes, now a significant part has already moved from the MP to the OCU. And I hope that this process will continue. And, to be honest, I don’t really understand those who continue to stay there,” Sonia Koshkina remarked.

She stated that she respects Father Andrii Pinchuk and understands why, for example, his parish does not shift to the OCU.

“I would not like to talk about it on the air, because it is a very long religious, theological story, so as not to overload your listeners. But there are certain reasons, and they deserve respect,” Koshkina assures.

To say that the UOC MP is all devils is wrong. It is not true, she said.
