Zelensky to Bartholomew: Your words are like hands that hold us up in this difficult time.

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine has assured Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew that Ukrainians feel the support and strength of his prayers and expressed hope for peace.

The head of state wrote about this on Twitter.

“Thank you for the warm conversation, Your All-Holiness #Bartholomew. Your words are like hands that hold us up in this difficult time. Ukrainians feel the spiritual support and strength of your prayers. We hope for the soonest peace,” Zelensky wrote.

The Ecumenical Patriarch assured Volodymyr Zelensky of solidarity and constant prayers of the Mother Church so that the enemy fire would cease and military conflict would end immediately. He congratulated the President for his cheerful fighting spirit, as well as for the inspiration and support he offers to the Ukrainian people with his courageous stance.

Finally, His Holiness conveyed from above a prayer for strength and endurance so that peace would soon reign in Ukraine, whose people, like many other peoples, accepted the Orthodox faith from the Church of Constantinople.
