The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, wished the Muslims of Ukraine to celebrate Eid al-Adha with victory in a peaceful country next year.
This is stated on the Facebook page of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Syrsky congratulated the Ukrainian Muslim soldiers on the holiday of Kurban Bayram – one of the two biggest holidays of the Islamic calendar.
“My sincere congratulations, first of all, to those soldiers who, in these festive moments, are repelling Russian invaders at the front, being unable to share the joy of the holiday with their families. I am sincerely grateful to you for your sacrifice and service,” the Commander-in-Chief noted.
According to him, the holiday of Kurban Bayram symbolizes readiness for self-sacrifice for the sake of the highest ideals and values, steadfastness and patience on the path of serving the highest goal, loyalty to the ideals given by the Almighty.
“The Holy Quran says: ‘Pray to your Lord and sacrifice!’ These words are a clear guide for all Muslims on how to best combine everyday life with serving God. Today, each of you sacrifices yourself and your service to your neighbors because you are protecting them from a war of aggression,” Syrskyi emphasized.
He expressed his sincere gratitude to every Muslim of Ukraine who, since the very outset of Russian aggression, has voluntarily stood up to protect the Ukrainian state and the entire Ukrainian people. Muslim servicemen, alongside their brothers and sisters of other faiths, defend their Homeland.
“On these days of Kurban Bayram, which are holy for every Muslim, when all the faithful gather at the festive table, visit friends and relatives, come to the graves of their ancestors and friends, I want to call to remember the memory of every Muslim soldier who gave his life for Ukraine. Thank you to every father and mother for their courageous sons and daughters, who did not dishonor, but glorified their family with a feat! Eternal glory to these brave people!” declared the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
“I congratulate all Muslims of Ukraine on their holiday! I wish that next year we will meet Kurban Bayram with Ukrainian Victory in a peaceful Ukraine!” stressed Syrskyi.
