Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, on the occasion of the feast of the Introduction to the Church of the Most Holy Theotokos, on Tuesday, November 21, led the Divine Liturgy in the festive cathedral of the community of Stavrodromi.

Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, Metropolitan Dimitriy of the Princely Islands, Metropolitan Theolept of Iconium, Metropolitan Theoktis of Phocis, and other hierarchs concelebrated the Divine Liturgy with the Ecumenical Patriarch.
In his speech after the ordination of the new deacon Anatoly, the Ecumenical Patriarch noted: “The Great Church is and will always remain Great in its humility. May this virtue accompany you in service.”
The Patriarch explained that the name Anatoly was chosen in honor of an outstanding predecessor who participated in the Councils of Ephesus and Chalcedon and played an important role in the activities of the Church.
The Patriarch emphasized that the history of the Ecumenical Patriarchate as a Great Church is rich and instructive. It educated many outstanding theologians and saints who glorified the name of the Creator and the Church. Patriarch Bartholomew also pointed out the importance of being a shining example and the light of Christ for others.
After the end of the Liturgy, the Ecumenical Patriarch thanked the faithful for their prayers and work, and the newly ordained deacon expressed his gratitude to the Patriarch for the opportunity to serve God.
