Onufriy thanks Borodianka-based priest who earlier said Russians would be greeted with flowers had they invaded in 2014

There is no limit to the cynicism on the part of the UOC MP. On July 17, the head of the UOC MP Onufriy thanked the priest Viktor Talko, who was earlier reported claiming that back in 2014, Russian invading troops would have been greeted with flowers in Ukraine. “You would be greeted with flowers if you supported Yanukovych,” Talko assured the Russian propagandists who were shooting a report in Borodianka while it was occupied by Russian troops in March 2022.

On July 17, collaborator priest Viktor Talko’s meeting with Onufriy took place at the Borodianka cemetery, where Ukrainians tortured to death by the Russian occupiers are buried. Onufriy and Father Viktor Talko, who gladly welcomed the invaders when the Russians were stationed in Borodianka, “prayed” for the Ukrainians killed by the Russian forces.

This was announced by the spokesman of the OCU, Yevstratiy (Zorya), on Facebook. Yevstratiy posted several photos showing Talko and Onufriy together.

“1. The onset of the occupation, March: UOC-MP priest Viktor Talko in Borodianka helps Russian invaders and their propagandists.

2-3. July 17 – Metropolitan Onufriy visits Talko’s parish, praises it highly, and shows all kinds of support.

Father Talko has “no problems” despite clear collaboration. Why? Perhaps this is why?

    1. Easter. (The-then) Head of the SBU Ivan Bakanov at the altar at the service led by Onufriy,” noted Archbishop Yevstratiy.

He noted that Talko organized the deportation of Borodianka residents to Belarus and cooperated with the occupiers in many other ways.

According to Archbishop Yevstratiy, there is also an OCU priest in Borodianka, Father Dmytro Koshka, who on the very first day of the attack signed up for the Territorial Defense and helped the Army fight off the invaders.
