Ukraine will no longer allow the UOC (MP) to serve as an instrument of Russian influence.
This was stated by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, in an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan.
Zelensky emphasized that a church that supports the ideology of the “Russian world” shall have no place in an independent state.
“The Moscow Patriarchate is not about faith, it is about politics. They have worked for the Kremlin for decades, spreading pro-Russian narratives, glorifying the war and justifying aggression. We cannot allow a structure to operate in Ukraine that is actually part of the Russian propaganda machine,” the president explained.
