Ukrainian Vertep Festival held in Italy

In northern Italy, in the city of Ferrara, the first-ever Ukrainian Vertep (Nativity Scene) Festival, organized by the Apostolic Exarchate, was held. The event brought together about 300 participants from different parts of the country, including Ferrara, Florence, Bologna, Mantua, Reggio Emilia, and Rovigo.

This was reported by the Information Department of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.

The celebrations began with the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, led by Bishop Dionysius Liakhovych, Apostolic Exarch for Ukrainian Catholics of the Byzantine Rite in Italy. The Archbishop of Ferrara-Comacchio, Monsignor Gian Carlo Perego, and UGCC priests from different regions of Italy also participated in the service.

After a joint prayer, the participants gathered for lunch, where they had the opportunity to chat and share their impressions.

As a reminder, the meeting of the Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate kicked off on January 9.
