On April 16, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine consecrated a batch of specialized vehicles along with electric generators before handing them over to Ukrainian soldiers outside the St. Michael’s Golden-Top Monastery.
Addressing those in attandance, His Beatitude emphasized the need for unity and constant spiritual and material support for Army that is fighting off Russian invaders, reports the OCU website.
“In this difficult time, we must do everything we can and in unity be the driving force to help our brave defenders in repelling the aggressor. We pray every day that the Lord helps us purge the Ukrainian land of the boots of the Russian invaders, and today we want to invest our material contribution in this cause. May God’s blessing lay upon each of you and may the guardian angel protect every defender of Ukraine who protects our freedom and right to exist,” said Metropolitan Epifaniy.
Specially equipped vehicles and generators were purchased as part of the cooperation between the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA.
It should be recalled that earlier, the UOC of the USA donated three medevac vehicles for the Ukrainian defenders.
