Documentary about sexual violence by Russian invaders tells story of OCU cleric

On March 27, a Slidstvo.info documentary “He Too: Stories of Ukrainian Men Abused by Russians” premiered in Kyiv. The film tells about the sexual abuse of Ukrainians who were under occupation and held in Kherson torture camps for their active pro-Ukrainian position. In order to force them to cooperation and break the men mentally, the Russians raped them or threatened them with sexual violence.

The film was presented earlier this week.

One of the stories is that of an OCU priest Serhii Chudynovych, who attended the presentation where he noted that it is very important to talk about the crimes committed by the Russian military.

“I know how difficult it is for people to tell the truth. I had motivation to tell, not even about torture or sexual abuse. I just saw videos of people who also fell to the Russians’ hands/ I saw how they tentatively talked about it. In this way, an incorrect information background was created: well, the Russians took me, well, we talked… All this is a lie. Therefore, when I learned about the presentation of the film, I immediately wanted to come,” says Serhii Chudynovych.

Iryna Didenko, the head of the specialized department at the Prosecutor General’s Office, said that the law enforcement managed to establish who organized the operation of the Kherson torture chamber.
