Council of Churches calls for three days of prayer, fasting for Ukraine’s victory

The All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations calls for nationwide prayer and fasting on March 1-3, 2024.

This is stated on the organization’s website.

As noted in the appeal, the second anniversary of Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine is approaching. The heroic resistance by Ukraine’s Defense Forces and the entire Ukrainian people allowed the nation to stop the aggressor, destroy the enemy plan and liberate part of the territory of Ukraine from Russian invaders.

“Every day, various Ukrainian churches and religious organizations offer prayers to God for the protection of our state and victory in the war for the independence of Ukraine. We believe that in these difficult days it is very important for all Ukrainians to turn to the Almighty in prayer.

We call on all denominations of Ukraine, government officials, Ukrainians both in Ukraine and around the world to join the nationwide three-day PRAYER and FAST on March 1-3, 2024, in accordance with their religious traditions and on a convenient day, unanimously offering prayers to God for Ukraine, for the Ukrainian people, for our soldiers, for release from military and civilian captivity, and for a great victory!

We believe that the evil that rose up against Ukraine will inevitably be broken and punished, and by God’s grace, peace, security, and prosperity will come to our country!” the statement reads.
