Bishop of Koman presents first Apostle aprakos in Ukrainian

On Wednesday, December 13, a presentation of a unique church publication – the Ukrainian version of the Apostle in the aprakos format will be held at the Stauropegium of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Kyiv. The event will be held by Bishop Michael of Koman, the Stauropegium’s press service reports.

The electronic edition is already available for download from the Stauropegium’s Facebook page.

Aprakos is a special type of liturgical book, where the text of the Holy Scriptures is presented according to the annual liturgical schedule. The Apostle in question is the first translation from Greek for Ukrainian Orthodoxy in several centuries.

During the presentation, Bishop Michael will talk about the experience of utilizing this format and call for the creation of a single translation of the Bible for all churches. The book was published with the support of the UOC of the USA for free distribution.

Church leaders and government officials have been invited to attend the event. It will take place on December 13 at 12:00 in the Stauropegium’s premises on Andriivsky Descent.
