Online platform launched for Ukrainian translators of Holy Scriptures

The EUM translation group is launching an online platform eum.org.ua dedicated to the Unified Ukrainian translation of the Holy Scriptures.

This is reported by the Stauropegium of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Ukraine.

The web resource is a platform for familiarization, dialogue, and cooperation within the framework of approbation of the latest Ukrainian liturgical translation from Greek.

The site contains detailed information about the sources and principles of translation, translators, and opportunities for cooperation, as well as about printed and electronic (free download) editions with the texts of the latest translation pieces.

The translators hope that this Ukrainian translation will benefit the entire Church and become an impetus for the unification, joint work and dialogue of jurisdictions in order to create a single version of the Holy Scriptures translated into Ukrainian, which would become equally authoritative for all.

Earlier we wrote that the second edition of the liturgical Gospel in Aprakos format has been submitted for print.

The first edition was presented on January 27, 2023 in the Stauropegium of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Ukraine. A total of 1,000 copies were published for free distribution with the financial support of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA (Ecumenical Patriarchate). It was handed over to military chaplains and Ukrainian-speaking Orthodox communities abroad.

This is the first Gospel-Aprakos in Ukrainian over several centuries – it is a new and improved translation from Greek, published in the Orthodox world for liturgical use, following the example of the Hellenic liturgical tradition.
