    Zelensky, Patriarch Bartholomew’s meeting in Turkey: peace in Ukraine, return of deported children on agenda

    During a visit to Turkey, President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. This was reported by the president himself on his Telegram channel.

    During the meeting, Volodymyr Zelensky shared with the patriarch the current situation at the front and briefed him on the latest crimes committed by the aggressor against peaceful Ukrainians.

    “Thank you for your unwavering support and prayers for peace! For condemning aggression and crimes, comprehensive assistance to Ukrainian men and women who suffered due to the war,” the president wrote.

    During the meeting, the Ukrainian peace formula and the return of illegally deported children to Ukraine were also discussed.

    In turn, Patriarch Bartholomew emphasized the importance of achieving peace in Ukraine.

    “The Ecumenical Patriarchate, as the Mother Church of all Orthodox in Ukraine, is always on the side of the Ukrainian people. I would like to wish the return of all prisoners and all children who are now far from their native homes,” the patriarch added.
