The petition to ban the UOC in unity with the Moscow Patriarchate received the necessary 25,000 signatures. This was announced by its initiator, MP Oleksiy Honcharenko.

Now the petition is supposed to be considered by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The petition also calls for the Kyiv-Pechersk, Pochaiv, and Sviatohirsk Lavra to be returned to the government owneship.

In the text of the petition, the author asks the President of Ukraine to support draft law 8221, which prohibits the activities of institutions subordinate to the aggressor power.

The draft law provides for early termination of all rental, hiring, or leasing documents with the institution, as well as with legal entities, of which it is owner, participant, or shareholder.
