    OCU bishop to head Lviv Council of Churches

    Metropolitan Makariy (Maletych) of Lviv (Orthodox Church of Ukraine) will become temporary chairman of the Lviv Council of Churches.

    This was announced by the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi.

    According to the official, the Bishop will head the Council for the next six months.

    Bishop Makariy was born in Krasne, Drohobych district, in a rural family with many children. He is a hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, metropolitan of Lviv, permanent member of the Synod, and Honorary Citizen of Lviv.
