UOC-MP’s Rivne Diocese appoints cleric responsible for “security issues” to block transitions to OCU

The leadership of the Rivne Diocese of the Moscow Patriarchate apparently doesn’t accept the idea of a free expression of their parishioners’ will. That is why a priest was appointed precisely to prevent community transitions to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine by a majority vote at parish meetings.

The official website of the UOC MP reports on the appointment of priest Vasyl Nachev to the position of “head of the department for security and protection of the rights of Orthodox believers.” The decision was made “with the blessing” of Archbishop Pimen (Voyat).

It is worth noting that since the onset of the Russian full-scale aggression, more than 550 parishes of the UOC MP have joined the OCU.

See the interactive map of transitions to OCU.

Earlier, UOC-MP head Onufriy promoted Bishop Pimen (Voyat) to the rank of archbishop. A month ago, the bishop of the UOC MP in Rivne, Pimen (Voyat), stated that their church is not involved in the “Russian world” promotion, and therefore the accusations in this regard are allegedly groundless. He also supported the dismissal of the head of the Rivne Regional State Administration, Serhii Kondrachuk.
