In order to discredit the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian occupiers have resorted to an act of provocation in Kherson region, shelling the occupied territories with tanks flying Ukrainian flags.
This was reported by Operational Command South, Information Resistance reports.
In particular, Russian tanks with Ukrainian flags on them were deployed on the outskirts of the village of Hrozove, Kherson region before demonstratively moving toward the village of Molodetske.
“Thus, the enemy is trying to simulate the presence of Ukraine’s Armed Forces in the occupied territories, then opening fire on the captured settlements, offering the local population a fake picture of the Ukrainian military attacking own civilians in Kherson region,” the statement said.
It is noted that in the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson and Mykolaiv regions, Russian troops continue psychological and fire pressure on civilians, running propaganda efforts to agitate the population against the Ukrainian government toward the creation of pseudo-republics, discrediting the Armed Forces with hoax attacks and shelling.
The Ukrainian military emphasizes that Ukraine’s defenders do not open fire on civilian targets, population, and settlements where Russians are using locals as human shield. Ukrainian missile and artillery units inflicted 12 strikes on the positions of the Russian armed forces overnight, killing 11 invaders and destroying three units of military equipment.
It should be recalled that the Russian forces had launched a missile attack on the Ukrainian Black Sea port city of Odesa. It has been reported that Russia seeks to establish full control over Donbas and southern Ukraine.
