“Our nation is unbreakable,” OCU Metropolitan tells story of caring Ukrainians saving Mariupol boy

Metropolitan of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Serhiy (Gorobtsov), told the story of Dmytro, who lived near the Donetsk Diocese of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in Mariupol and came under Russian fire. He was saved by caring Ukrainians.

“A Russcist bomb hit their home. His mother, Ms. Natalia, was killed. Natalia was my parishioner, she would always come to church and pray for her family and Ukraine. The Lord saved Dmytro’s life and sent a pious family to help him. Olha and Andriy Matyozov and his daughter Alyona Matyozova pulled Dmytro from under the rubble, provided first aid, and rushed him to a hospital. All this happened under continuous fire and explosions. Now Dmytro and his father are in the city of Dnipro, they are safe,” the metropolitan wrote on Facebook.

“In conclusion, I would like to add that there are real heroes in Ukraine, including the Matyozov family. They were also scared, but they saved the young Ukrainian. Our nation is unbreakable,” the hierarch of the OCU summed up.

It should be recalled that Putin’s crony Viktor Medvedchuk, earlier arrested by security operatives in Ukraine after fleeing from house arrest and hiding out for weeks, addressed the presidents of Ukraine and Russia with a request to exchange him for the inhabitants of besieged Mariupol and defenders of the city. Mariupol residents are suffering from starvation, while the occupiers are not allowing humanitarian aid to come in.
