President’s Office welcomes UOC-MP leader Onufriy’s statement calling Russia “aggressor”

In an interview, Oleksiy Arestovych, Adviser to the Head of the Ukrainian President’s Office, commented on the position of the head of the Moscow Patriarchate in Ukraine, Metropolitan Onufriy (Berezovsky), on the ongoing war waged by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

“There was a lot of talk about his personal position, but immediately, on the day when the strikes began and when everyone, or many, believed that Kyiv would fall in 24 hours, he stated his position clearly: it is aggression,” Arestovych said.

It should be recalled that earlier, the bishop of the Moscow patriarchate in Donetsk, Metropolitan Hilarion (Shukalo), declared that Russian occupiers wounded his soul by the barbaric attack of the Sviatohirsk Lavra.
