The church blesses the use of weapons by the population in the fight against the invader.
This was stated by the hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Oleksandr (Drabynko) of Pereyaslav and Vyshneve
Asked whether the Church supports the use of weapons by the population in the event of external aggression, the bishop answered affirmatively and that the question is “very simple.”
“The Church has always said that it is fair to defend the war. We do not step on a single centimeter of someone else’s land, and accordingly, we are in the end obliged to bless the protection of our native land, families, so the church blesses the defense of our state,” said the Metropolitan.
