On the eve of his birthday, the head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine, traditionally met with children undergoing palliative care.

The head of the Ukrainian Church was accompanied by the head of the department of social service of the Kyiv Metropolis, Roman Kholodov, and department staff.
His Beatitude spoke with the management of the institution. The parties discussed the importance of spiritual support, appropriate conditions for children on palliative support and the features of care for seriously ill young patients. According to the doctors working at the institution, palliative care is not about death, it’s about quality of life.
In addition, Metropolitan Epifaniy met with orphans and donated to the institution a batch of household appliances, personal hygiene items, and toys.
