ROCinU spokesman claims Ukraine must “act together with Russia” pursuing common goals

The Moscow Patriarchate sees nothing wrong with Russia killing tens of thousands of Ukrainians, occupying Crimea, and supporting the “LPR/DPR” terrorist groups. They are convinced that Ukraine must “act together with Russia for the sake of common interests.”

A spokesman for the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine (the so-called UOC-MP), Archpriest Mykola Danylevych, has shared on social media a publication by Vzglyad.ru, one of Russia’s propaganda outlets.

In the post, Danylevych expressed confidence in and supported the opinion expressed by the French foreign minister that Ukrainians should understand the need to maintain a dialogue with Russia and act together with it, pursuing common goals. That’s despite Russia being an aggressor power, which occupied Crimea and parts of Donbas.

“Russia is first and foremost a neighbor. This is a reality, but geography is a stubborn thing, as you know, and Russia hasn’t expressed any intention to ‘move’ anywhere. Sometimes neighbors are intolerable, there are neighbors who annoy you, but they still remain your neighbors, so you need to find ways to work together for the common good,” reads a statement by the French Foreign Minister, which Danylevych shared on Telegram.

“The French are talking about it and even more so, we have to realize it, because we are closer. Geography is stubborn,” the spokesman for the ROCinU wrote.

As we can see, the ROCinU continues its pro-Russian efforts at the highest level, calling for an alliance with the aggressor power as the war is going on for the eighth year already. Such statements by the ROCinU should raise doubts if any common sense is left in this organization, as well as pose questions on the part of the relevant law enforcement agencies responsible for prosecuting criminal activity to the detriment of Ukraine’s national interests.

It should be recalled that the Moscow patriarch, Kirill, recently admitted that the so-called “Ukrainian Orthodox Church – Moscow Patriarchate” is in fact part of the Russian Church. The head of the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine, Onufriy, recently congratulated Patriarch Kirill of the aggressor country on his birthday, while the president of Russia decorated the Moscow patriarch with the Order of Apostle Andrew the First-Called.
