As part of the archpastoral visit to the Kharkiv Diocese, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine held a separate working meeting with the Acting Head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Mykhailo Cherniak. It was about countering Russian aggression and the challenges of hybrid warfare, as well as the development of the region and the religious and interfaith situation.
“You are on the very forefront of the struggle, so you have a great responsibility. I am convinced that no one here wants to be a hostage without rights, as in the temporarily occupied Crimea and part of Donbas, “Epifaniy said, according to the OCU press service.
“We are aware of the information attacks by our adversary, but this is agony, because the process of recognition and progress of the OCU is irreversible. We have shown that we are becoming stronger because we are not collapsing, but growing and developing, while they can do nothing about it,” the head of the OCU summed up.
Metropolitan Epifaniy also told Mykhailo Cherniak about sociological polls held over recent years, which convincingly show that the OCU is Ukraine’s largest religious community.
In addition, Metropolitan Epifaniy together with the hierarchs of the OCU met with the head of the Kharkiv Regional Council, Tetiana Yehorova-Lutsenko, head of the Security Service’s Department in Kharkiv region, Roman Dudin, head of the National Police Main PD in Kharkiv region, Stanislav Perlin, head of the Kharkiv regional Prosecutor’s Office Oleksandr Filchakov, Advisor to the Head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Serhiy Storozhenko, and Advisor to the Head of the Kharkiv Regional Council,Yevhen Hrytskov.
