We all understand that ROC in Ukraine is “fifth column”, but it’s on us that its existence depends – historian

The very existence of the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine, which has been pursuing anti-Ukrainian efforts, depends solely on Ukrainians. If Ukrainians are strong in their stance, it will certainly be possible to eradicate the “fifth column” and the Moscow priests.

At the same time, ROCinU’s parishioners need to undergo “rehabilitation,” historian, chief of the Dolya Memorial and Search Center, Sviatoslav Sheremeta, told NTA TV.

“We all understand that the Moscow Church is a fifth column. We all realize that, apparently, their bishops have extremely high ranks in their intelligence agency, and that most of their priests are also spies. Unfortunately, there is a small part of Ukrainians who may have been bribed or deceived,” Sheremeta said.

According to him, the actions taken by the priests of the Moscow Church, including “spelling a curse” on the Ecumenical Patriarch to prevent him from arriving in Ukraine, are simply outrageous.

“Unfortunately, this is definitely present in this Moscow church and we really see it as a sect,” the historian said.

This Sunday, the expert added, as he was in Khmelnytsky region where a monument to Ukrainian People’s Republic soldiers was being consecrated, he saw along the way several groups of pilgrims with the Moscow Patriarchate.

“We drove past them quite slowly and I looked in their faces. Those people were Ukrainians. But there’s an impression that these people have been zombified by this Moscow church – a sect and organization that employs techniques used by Russia’s secret services. In fact, this is quite unfortunate, so we must do everything to ensure that there is no church around here that goes on declaring anti-Ukrainian slogans, pursuing anti-Ukrainian efforts, and doing everything to ensure that we do not live in an independent state,” Sheremeta said.
