As part of his visit to Kyiv, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will serve a liturgy together with Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine at St. Sophia Cathedral on August 22.

“On Sunday, August 22, 2021, a solemn Divine Liturgy will be served by two Primates – His Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine – in the open air in the territory of St. Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv,” the press service of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine informs, according to Ukrinform.

The liturgy will start at 9:00 Kyiv time.

In addition, the press service says, at 10:00 on August 21, a solemn meeting and a prayer of thanksgiving in honor of the Ecumenical Patriarch will take place at St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral on the occasion of his arrival in Ukraine.

As reported, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew announced in November last year he would pay an official visit to Ukraine on Independence Day in 2021 in response to an invitation from President Volodymyr Zelensky.
