At the onset of Metropolitan Epifaniy’s trip, on his way to Imbros Island, the OCU Primate and his entourage, at the invitation of Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, visited the official residence of the Chalcedon Metropolis in Istanbul.
Bishop Emmanuel spoke about the history and modern days of the Metropolis and thanked the Primate of the OCU for the visit, the OCU press service reports.
“It is a great spiritual joy for us to visit the venue of the Fourth Ecumenical Council, as well as the Metropolis, where prominent hierarchs of the Ecumenical Patriarchate recently worked – Metropolitan Meliton and the incumbent Patriarch Bartholomew. We wish you, Bishop, God’s help in serving the Church at this department,” Metropolitan Epifaniy said during the meeting.
“We cordially greet you, the Primate of the Autocephalous Holy Orthodox Church of Ukraine, within these walls and look forward to soon visit you in Ukraine,” said Metropolitan Emmanuel.
