ROCinU tells faithful to “reflect” on Zelensky’s advice to occupied Donbas residents identifying as “Russians” to move to Russia

After President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called on the residents of eastern Ukraine who identify as Russians to move to Russia, the ROC in Ukraine has recommended that its followers think the statement over.

“Once again: it’s you Homeland or you’re a guest,” Volodymyr Zelensky said in the statement. “I believe that if you’ve been living in the occupied Donbas and if you believe that ‘our cause is righteous, that we are heading toward Russia, that we are Russians,’ it would a big mistake to stay in Donbas.”

ROCinU experts with the Pravblog platform have already reacted to the statement.

“Given Zelensky’s desire to run for a second term, his words may indicate that both he and his team have decided on the election strategy, as well as the electoral base. It is worth noting that in the framework of such a course, the church issue will inevitably shift towards the total support of the OCU. This means that the UOC (ROCinU – ed.) should already think about the strategy for the near future,” the pro-Russian experts suggest.

They also referred to Zelensky’s words as “a statement that could become a strategic one.”

Russian TV propaganda pundits have recently shifted accents in their coverage of Volodymyr Zelensky’s work, tending to brand him a “radical nationalist.”
