On August 1, the hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Archbishop Ilarion (Protsyk) of Rivne and Ostroh, at the invitation of Archpriest Andriy Ovdiuk, led the Divine Liturgy in the Holy Trinity Church in the village of Posiahva of the Rivne region’s Hoscha denomination. The Bishop of the Orthodox Church of Cyprus, Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Cyrene, prayed at the service.
That’s according to the official website of the Rivne Diocese.
During the service, a prayer was voiced for an end to the coronavirus epidemic and achieving fair peace in Ukraine.
Following the liturgy, the OCU Archbishop addressed parishioners with a word of teaching and greeted everyone on Holy Sunday. Also, a number of dignitaries were awarded the Bishop’s blessed diplomas.
It should be recalled that Metropolitan Chrysostomos arrived to celebrate the anniversary of Baptism of Rus-Ukraine and conveyed greetings to the head of the OCU, Metropolitan Epifaniy, from the head of the Church of Cyprus.
