In Poltava, mass events will be abandoned for Easter in favor of safe celebrations. A large Pysanka Easter Egg decorated with chevrons of Ukrainian Army units will be installed in the city center in a sign of gratitude to the military for protecting their land.
This was reported by the Poltavashchyna online outlet.
As noted by the Poltava City Council, all festive activities, including master classes and children’s events, will take place in the immediate vicinity of shelters and in compliance with safety rules. Thematic photo zones, installations and spaces for children’s crafts will also emerge in different areas of the community.
Following the meeting of the Regional Defense Council, the regional administration emphasized the importance of avoiding crowding during the consecration of Easter baskets. Law enforcement, rescuers, and clergy have already agreed on additional security measures.
A permanent curfew remains in place in the region from 00:00 to 04:00. In the event of an air raid alert, residents are urged to immediately take shelter.
Easter services in several churches across Poltava will be live-streamed.
