A 31-year-old YouTube blogger, Claude Rommel, who covered Orthodox topics, was arrested on September 30 on suspicion of molesting minors and rape.
Rommel lived in St. Petersburg with a woman and her 10-year-old daughter, whom he moved into his room, allegedly because of “complicated relations with the mother,” reports Christians against War Telegram channel.
When the girl’s relative contacted the police, Rommel denied accusations, claiming that he only gave the child a medical massage. After the investigation started, he deployed in Ukraine as part of the invasion force where he was wounded.
According to the inquiry, the incident took place in mid-February, around the time when Rommel was recording the video “on Calvary”.
The situation exposes a shocking contrast between the public image of the “Orthodox blogger” and the accusations of serious crimes committed against child.
