The Ukrainian Orthodox League (UOL) of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA (UOC of the USA) recently convened its 77th Annual Convention in the historic city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This year, the event was graciously hosted by the St. Vladimir UOL Chapter of St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral under the spiritual guidance of Very Rev. Fr. Taras Naumenko.
This is reported by the UOC of the USA press service.
The convention featured a variety of workshops and panel discussions aimed at fostering unity, spiritual growth, and effective ministry within the Church.
A panel of members and clergy discussed their efforts to support Ukraine during the ongoing conflict. This discussion outlined various initiatives undertaken within their parishes and explored ways to coordinate and enhance these efforts. It was a poignant reminder of the Church’s role in addressing humanitarian crises and supporting those in need.
On Sunday, July 28, 2024, the feast day of Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Great Prince Volodymyr the Great, His Eminence Metropolitan Antony and Archbishop Daniel led the Eucharistic Divine Liturgy. Clergy and guests of the cathedral joined in this solemn celebration.
As attendees departed, there was a palpable sense of anticipation and hope for the 78th Annual UOL Convention, scheduled to take place in Florida in 2025.
The convention in Philadelphia not only strengthened the bonds within the UOC of the USA but also set the stage for continued growth and unity in the years to come.
