    Representatives from Ecumenical Patriarchate meet with PM Shmyhal

    On July 15, on Ukrainian Statehood Day and Day of the Baptism of Ukraine-Rus, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Metropolitan Elder Emmanuel of Chalcedon held a meeting.

    The meeting was also attended by the Exarch of the Ecumenical Patriarch in Ukraine, Bishop Michael of Koman.

    The parties discussed humanitarian projects and assistance to Ukrainians. The Prime Minister thanked Metropolitan Emmanuel for his visit to Kyiv and for the support from Patriarch Bartholomew, reports the Mission Stauropegium of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Ukraine.

    “His personal participation in the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland is an important contribution to the process of restoring peace in our country,” the Head of Government noted.

    Denys Shmyhal noted that the efforts of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and prayers for Ukraine inspire millions of Ukrainians and instill faith that in the foreseeable future the nation will achieve a just end to the war waged by Russia against Ukraine.

    It should be recalled that the Exarch of the Ecumenical Patriarch in Ukraine took part in the prayer on the occasion of Ukrainian Statehood Day.
