On the sidelines of the Summit on Peace in Ukraine, which is being held in Switzerland on June 15-16, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met today with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, who was invited and is participating in the international conference following the official invitation from the President of Switzerland, Viola Amherd.
The President of Ukraine thanked the patriarch for his support for Ukraine, prayers for peace, and help to Ukrainians suffering from Russian aggression. Zelensky noted that “this is very important for us.”
“We also appreciate the efforts of His Holiness to promote the development and strengthening of Orthodoxy in Ukraine and dialogue with the clergy of other countries and partner states on the issue,” Zelensky wrote in Telegram.
