Archbishop Ahapit offers prayer for war journalists

In St. Michael’s Golden-Top Monastery, Archbishop Ahapit of Vyshhorod performed a funeral liturgy for those who sacrificed their lives for Ukraine and a prayer for the health of war journalists who cover frontline developments.

On February 16, war journalists in Ukraine celebrate their professional holiday, the OCU press service recalls.

Since the first days of Russian aggression, war journalists have been at the front line, wearing uniform, reporting, providing reliable information to the public, supporting the work of civilian journalists – Ukrainian and international – and keeping people aware of the ongoing operations, contributing to the consolidation of society with the military.

Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev, Commander of Operational-Strategic Grouping North, and military journalists took part in the joint prayer.

After the Divine Service, Archbishop Ahapit congratulated those in attendance on the holiday, and with the blessing of the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, presented church awards.

It should be recalled that in Kherson region, the invaders tortured to death the abbot of the OCU temple in Kalanchak.
