December 15 marked exactly five years since the founding Unification Council, at which the single Local Orthodox Church of Ukraine was formed.
On this occasion, the head of the OCU, Metropolitan Epifaniy, addressed the faithful on Facebook.
Vladyka emphasized that it was unity that became the basis for the revival of Ukrainian Orthodoxy. It was the unification of the three former jurisdictions that allowed for building an open and united Church.
Over the five years of its existence, OCU has strengthened and developed its network throughout Ukraine. However, the most important thing is that it has become the spiritual shield for the Ukrainian people, addressing external challenges side by side.
Metropolitan Epifaniy urged to maintain unity in understanding and actions in order to overcome any internal or external challenges together. Because only the united Church can be the soul of the Ukrainian nation.
The head of the OCU was invited to a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden. Metropolitan Epifaniy also took part in the peace proclamation ceremony in Turku, Finland.
