Pope Francis urged not to forget about long-suffering Ukraine, as well as to pray for other nations suffering from violence and war.
As reported by Vatican News, the pontiff made the corresponding appeal during a Sunday mass in the Vatican.
“I renew my closeness with the dear people of Myanmar, who unfortunately continue to suffer from violence and abuse. I pray that they do not despair and always rely on the Lord’s help… Also, brothers and sisters, let us continue to pray for the suffering Ukraine – I see here the flags of Ukraine – and for the population of Palestine and Israel,” said the Pope after delivering the “Angel of the Lord” prayer.
“Good will is needed. Peace is possible. Let’s not put up with war! And let’s not forget that war is always, always, always a defeat. Only weapons manufacturers make money,” he emphasized.
It should be recalled that Pope Francis will visit Dubai in December.
