Overnight Tuesday, the Russians again bombarded Ukraine with cruise missiles and drones. The ivaders struck Lviv using one-way attack drones. As a result of the enemy strike, three warehouses were destroyed. Among them is the humanitarian aid facility run by Caritas-Spes Ukraine – a unit of the Catholic Charitable Organization. The Mission’s staff have not been hurt but the warehouse and everything in it burned to the ground.

“We will be able to assess the losses later as currently special services are working at the scene. It is already known about the destruction of 33 pallets of Pack for Ukraine food kits, 10 pallets of hygiene kits and canned goods, and 10 pallets of generators and clothes. In total, about 300 tons of humanitarian goods burned down in the warehouse. The humanitarian transport remained intact,” the statement reads.
This is not the first time Russia has attacked humanitarian depots in Ukraine. In general, it is difficult to count all attacks on humanitarian warehouses due to the sensitive nature of such information, but according to media reports, warehouses run by two humanitarian organizations in Odesa and Ternopil were destroyed in May 2023.
The Lviv mayor commented on the crime as follows: “Aid was just coming: warm blankets, clothes, shoes, generators, and food products. Russian drones hit all of this. There was never any military production capacity here at all. So this was the attack on humanitarian cargo.”
It should be recalled that the invaders illegally detained two OCU priests in the occupied parts of Donetsk region.
