The Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) wants to be forcibly evicted from the Lavra for Russia to be able to claim the oppression of the Orthodox in Ukraine.
That’s according to Yuriy Chornomorets, a religious scholar and PhD, who spoke of this on the air of the Kyiv TV channel.
“UOC MP will file claims in courts and explore various pretexts. There will be various campaigns around this. Their task is to be evicted by force, and millions of parishioners – to protect them. As we can see, there are no millions of parishioners out there. The situation is deadlocked for them. They would like more riots to happen to make the media picture work in Russia. It’s as if their rights are being violated en masse,” the analyst says.
