On May 16, the Primate of the Autocephalous Ukrainian Orthodox Church met in the Metropolitan House with soldiers from the Ukrainian Volunteer Army, National Guard, and 18th Separate Battalion of the Marines.
Metropolitan Epifaniy discussed with the defenders of Ukraine the current situation regarding repelling Russia’s full-scale attack, wished them God’s protection and success in their challenging service, and handed them mobile optical-electronic counter-battery systems, obtained with the help of volunteers and benefactors, reports the OCU press service.
These systems aimed to counter enemy shelling will soon be deployed at the front line.
“May the Lord bless you and strengthen you on this sacrificial path of resistance to the invaders. We believe in our victory and pray for our defenders every day. I am convinced that the Lord hears our prayers and we will win and achieve a just peace because the truth always wins,” said Metropolitan Epifaniy.
It should be recalled that another parish joined the OCU in Dnipro region. Also on Mount Athos, OCU priests prayed for the victory of Ukraine and presented the monks with embroidered towels.
