SBU seizes Novynskyi’s property worth over UAH3.5B

The Security Service of Ukraine seized assets belonging to former MP Vadym Novynskyi, worth over UAH 3.5 billion.
That’s according to an SBU report posted on Telegram, Ukrinform wrote.
The list of assets includes corporate rights to 40 Ukrainian enterprises and 30 gas wells.
The total amount of the property seized stands at over UAH3.5 billion.
The inquiry learned that, in order to dodge sanctions imposed by Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, Novynskyi attempted to re-register his industrial facilities to several affiliated commercial entities. His fraud scheme involved assistance from private notaries and state registrars.
Based on the SBU case, the Ministry of Justice has already canceled the illegitimate acts certified by the said registrars.
In the criminal proceedings launched under Art. 111-2 (abetting the aggressor state), SBU operatives raided the affiliated companies’ offices, as well as the suspects’ homes.
During the raids,  documents, seals of non-resident companies, and pro-Kremlin religious literature were discovered.
The Prosecutor General’s Office and the Ministry of Justice are supervising the investigation.
