The head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Epifaniy, expressed his condolences to all the victims of the earthquake in Turkey.
The metropolitan wrote his address on Twitter.
“Condolences to all those affected by the consequences of the catastrophic earthquake in Turkey. We ask God to help the wounded, those who lost their loved ones, and lost their homes. We share your pain. May the souls of the dead rest in peace! May God help those who are working to eliminate the consequences of the disaster,” wrote Metropolitan Epifaniy.
The Turkish president said that, according to the latest data, at least 3,549 people died as a result of the earthquakes, and another 22,168 people were injured.
According to Erdogan, Turkey is facing one of the biggest disasters not only in the country’s history, but also in the history of the region and the whole world. Currently, the efforts of all Turkish government agencies, personnel, and equipment have been mobilized for work in the disaster zone.
On the morning of February 6, parts of Turkey and Syria were hit by powerful earthquakes. As a result, many homes were destroyed. Fires broke out at the sites of destruction.
President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine ordered to send humanitarian aid to Turkey.
