Victory will come to Ukraine when we emerge from this fiery cauldron of war renewed, become a different people, when we are qualitatively different from the nation, the state, which we were before the beginning of this great calamity.
This was stated by the Head of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, in a sermon on Sunday before Epiphany in the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Kyiv.
“That road of the Lord is a road from slavery to freedom through the desert, as it was during the liberation of Israel from Egyptian slavery. A new era is beginning, an era of reconstruction, an era of new life for God’s people on their native land.
Today, we in Ukraine are so in need of a herald that the war will end, that the period of destruction is finally coming to an end. We are so in need of preparation for the new reality — post-war Ukraine. Now, more than ever before, we understand that it is impossible to live the way we lived until now,” the Head of the UGCC summarized.
