On the initiative of His Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, the American Archdiocese of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in the USA initiated the creation of the Ukraine Relief Fund, which has already raised more than USD 5 million.
This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian President’s Office following the visit of Ukraine’s First Lady, Olena Zelenska, to Turkey.
The president’s spouse also thanked the Ecumenical Patriarch and the Greek community of Turkey for the humanitarian aid: in March, the Ecumenical Patriarchate sent a humanitarian cargo worth more than EUR 250,000.
On Sunday, October 2, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew received the spouse of the President of Ukraine, Ms. Olena Zelenska.
