On August 16, during a Warsaw visit, OCU Bishop Matthew (Shevchuk) of Volodymyr-Volynskyi and Turiya met with the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland, Vasyl Zvarych.
This was reported by the press service of the Volodymyr-Volynskyi Diocese of the OCU.
During the meeting, the bishop conveyed greetings from the head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epifaniy.
Bishop Matthew also presented a medal of sacrifice and love for Ukraine to Mr. Cezary Szczurowski, the founder of the Fundacja Jana Zamoyskiego charity, on behalf of Metropolitan Epifaniy.
According to the OCU hierarch, Mr. Cezary “helps our state a lot, and also kindly accepted children from our diocese for a summer vacation in a camp.”
Bishop Matthew also expressed his respect and gratitude to the Poles, who are not standing aside in this special time which is not easy for Ukraine.
It should be recalled that the archbishop of the UOC of the USA visited Ukrainian children who were forced to flee the war to Poland.
