Non-canonical schismatics with the Moscow Patriarchate have been officially registered in the Central African Republic.
This was reported by the so-called “exarch of the Russian Orthodox Church in Africa”, Metropolitan Leonid (Gorbachev).
“From now on, the following officially operates in the CAR: “The Russian Orthodox Church in the Central African Republic (Moscow Patriarchate. Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa),” he wrote on his Telegram channel on Monday.
In addition, he published a photo from the first worship service. It is noteworthy that the photo shows ROC cleric Georgy Maksimov, not the African clergy, who allegedly seek to become part of the ROC, after the OCU was recognized by the Alexandrian Patriarchate.
The Russian Orthodox Church began to split the Alexandrian Orthodox Church at the end of December 2021 “at numerous requests of African priests,” who, according to Russian propagandists, “do not agree” with the recognition of the OCU. In fact, none of them had heard of the OCU, and neither are they aware of thee UOC MP. Most of the parishes in Africa are subsidized, so when the Russian Orthodox Church offered more roubles to African clerics than they had been paid before, some agreed to join Moscow’s non-canonical schismatics.
The ROC planned to implement these plans not only with the help of roubles, but also relying on the presence of the Wagner Private Military Company in the region. In this way, the Russian Orthodox Church takes revenge on the Church of Alexandria for recognizing the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
It should be recalled that earlier, the ROC announced plans to build an administrative center in New Cairo.
