The Embassy of Ukraine in Sweden invites everyone to a special ecumenical prayer for peace in Ukraine, which will be held on February 24. This is a symbolic date as it marks the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The prayer will be hosted by the historic and majestic Royal Chapel, located in the heart of Stockholm, on the premises of the Royal Palace.
This is stated on the Embassy’s Facebook page.
The organizers of the spiritual meeting were the Embassy of Ukraine in Sweden in close cooperation with the Chaplain and Vicar of the Royal Court, Venerable Michael Bjerkhagen. The prayer will be led by representatives of the Ukrainian clergy: Father Andriy Linkevych, representing the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, and Father Andriy Melnychuk from the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. The special atmosphere of the event will be ensured by a musical bit directed by brilliant Yvette Irha.
An important feature of the event will be the presence of representatives from the Swedish Royal Family, which emphasizes Sweden’s solidarity with Ukraine and its people in this difficult time.
Given the limited number of seats in the Royal Chapel, the organizers ask everyone who wishes to participate in the prayer to register by February 20, 2025. To register, you must send an email to the official email address of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Sweden.
