Representatives of the Plast organization handed over the Bethlehem Fire to the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. This symbol of the light of Christ, faith and hope unites millions of Christians around the world every year.
In Ukraine, where the war has been going on for years, the Bethlehem Fire takes on special significance, as faith in victory, peace and spiritual renewal, says the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Reserve.
The handover of the fire took place during the Divine Liturgy and a prayer service in the Dormition Cathedral of the Lavra. Hundreds of believers joined the joint prayer, who came for the light of hope and blessing on the eve of Christmas.
The prayer service was held in front of the icons of the Ozeryanska icon, which is a shrine of the Slobozhanshchyna region, and the Vyshhorod icon, which was brought back to Ukraine after decades abroad.
The Bethlehem Fire of Peace, which is lit every year in the city where Jesus Christ was born, continues to remind us that even in the darkest times, light will prevail.
The Bethlehem Fire of Peace also arrived in Lviv.
